Hat Advice
The number one thing that will keep your hat looking newer longer is not to pick it up by the crown (DO NOT PINCH). This is for both straw and felt hats. This will cause the straw to crack and the felt to wear and look soiled. Always handle it from the brim. We suggest on the sides, just over the ears.
Never rest your hat when the brim is snapped down. This will raise the brim at the crown and put wrinkles in it. Either snap it up or turn the hat upside down on its crown.
Clean your hat regularly, using a soft bristle brush or hat sponge (Hat brushes and hat sponges are available). Brush counter clockwise with the nap. Brushing keeps dust and lint off the hat so that if it gets wet, it will not stain.
If you get caught in the rain, shake the moisture off and turn the sweatband out. This allows faster drying. Set the hat on its crown and let it dry naturally. Do not apply heat or place by heat. This may cause shrinkage and I may lose its shape.
How To Measure Your Head for the Hat
Just above your ears and eyebrows place the tape measure. Make sure it is snug but not tight. Go to the nearest 1/8 th inch. See chart below in inches and convert your size.
